Georgia football and Kirby Smart continue to make big moves on the recruiting trail. Smart and his staff are not afraid of recruiting any player from across the country, but recruitments feel especially important with in-state targets. That importance increases exponentially when the recruit is one of the highest ranked recruits in the country.

One of those in-state recruitments that Georgia is prioritizing is for one of the best tight ends in the country. This is a recruitment that Georgia should stand a good chance in, but based on his top five just released this will be a tough battle for UGA to win.

5-star TE Kaiden Prothro

Kaiden Prothro is a five-star tight end from Bowdon, GA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 21 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 2 tight end and the No. 2 overall player from Georgia as well.

Prothro recently announced his top five schools, and to no one's surprise, Georgia made the cut according to Hayes Fawcett with On3. Georgia will face some stiff SEC competition in this recruitment as Florida, Auburn, Texas and Alabama also made the cut for Prothro as well.

Prothro will likely take an official visit to all five of these schools later this summer, and that is the case with Georgia as he has already scheduled his official visit to Athens. This visit will begin on May 30 and run through the entire weeked. Prothro is someone who has been to campus more than a few times already, but this visit will be the biggest that he'll take in his entire recruitment.

This recruitment will not be easy to win, but Georgia fans should feel very confident right now considering he is from Georgia and the Bulldogs have a rich history of developing great tight ends.
