The single most important recruit for Georgia in the 2026 recruiting class is five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. Not only will he be the leader for Georgia on the field for many years to come, but he is already taking on a leadership role by helping recruit more talent to Georgia right now.

Curtis has directly come out and shared that he wants to help Kirby Smart recruit as many players as he can, and he recently did that in an obscure way with a five-star wide receiver. But his recruiting efforts will ramp up this weekend when he once again is on campus to visit Georgia.

Jared Curtis will put his recruiting hat on during visit this weekend

Curtis will be taking his official visit to Georgia this weekend along with many other elite recruits. Curtis's visit will look much different than the other recruits visiting because he is already committed to Georgia. So instead of focusing on recruiting him, Georgia's staff will look to continue to build an even stronger relationship with him.

But Curtis will have an important role this weekend that most recruits don't have. Curtis will be looking to help Georgia's coaching staff in their recruiting efforts to help continue UGA's hot streak on the trecruiting trail.

While Curtis would likely be willing to help recruit every player visiting Georgia this weekend, there are a few players he likely will focus on the most.

2 targets Jared Curtis will help recruit during official visit

The first target Curtis will likely focus on is four-star running back Derrek Cooper, who according to On3 is the No. 3 running back in the country. Every quarterback needs an elite back next to him, and Cooper has all the tools to excel at Georgia alongside Curtis.

Five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson will be also be in town this weekend as well, and this recruitment is potentially the most important for Georgia right now. Atkinson is the No. 1 linebacker in the country and an in-state recruit as well, so it's clear how bad Georgia wants him in their class. UGA is up against Clemson and Oregon for Atkinson right now, but a big visit this weekend with Curtis in his ear could cause Atkinson to commit to UGA on the spot.

It will be interesting to see how much Curtis is able to help the staff in their recruiting efforts this weekend, but it's clear that this will be his main focus while in town.
