Georgia football is one of the best programs in the country, and they got even better last week as five-star quarterback Jayden Wade announced his commitment to UGA. Wade not only is a five-star recruit, but he is the No. 1 overall player in the 2028 recruiting class, so earning his commitment was a massive deal for Georgia.
But how did Georgia earn his commitment? How did they get Wade to commit to Georgia when he is still just a sophomore in high school?
Wade hasn't shared all of the specifics that led to his commitment to UGA, but he did share that he's known for quite some time that Georgia was the right place for him.
“We planned this at the beginning of the season,” Wade shared via dawgnation.com. “This was planned at the beginning of the season. I just wanted to keep in contact with them.”
5-star Jayden Wade shares intimate details about his commitment to Georgia
Wade shared soon after he committed to Georgia that he has known since the start of this season that UGA was the right place for him. Sure he didn't announce his commitment until mid-November, but for at least a few months before that he knew Georgia was where he wanted to play college football.
Wade also shared that a few of his high school teammates helped convince him to commit to Georgia and announce his decision as soon as he did. Zech Fort and Preston Carey are two of his current teammates that are also committed to UGA, and they apparently played a big role in him choosing Georgia and announcing his decision in the fashion that he did.
But the fact that Wade has known for a few months that Georgia is the right school for him is a big deal. He still has over two years until he can sign with UGA, so being this confident in his decision should lead Georgia fans to feel very confident that his commitment will stick and he will officially become a Bulldog in a few years.
