Kellan Hall was one of multiple five-stars at Georgia this past weekend for the Oklahoma game. He reportedly left Athens feeling good about Georgia as a potential place to play college football, but NIL is the one thing he’s still thinking hard about.
By now Georgia fans know that Kirby Smart won’t make the biggest offer for any high school recruit. Even with that being the case he’s still able to land multiple elite recruits every recruiting cycle by selling Georgia’s brand of winning and sending players to the NFL.
Hall himself said he isn’t sure how much NIL will matter to his final decision, but when asked what would happen if Georgia made him a competitive NIL offer he said it would be hard to say no to playing for Kirby Smart and Georgia.
“It will definitely be pretty tough,” Hall said via dawgnation.com.
Georgia's win over Oklahoma could change the trajectory of Kellan Hall's recruitment
Hall may have been a visitor for Georgia this past weekend, but there's a chance he was also there to see Oklahoma up close and personal as well. About a week ago Hall was predicted to commit to Oklahoma, so it may not have been a coincidence that he went to a Sooners game a few days later even if he was technically visiting Georgia.
It's impossible to know if that was Hall's motive or not, but it's hard to imagine he liked what he saw on the field from Oklahoma.
Georgia dominated Oklahoma from the opening kickoff. The quickly jumped out to a two score lead before forcing multiple turnovers and even scoring a defensive touchdown during the second quarter. Hall saw Georgia take 28-0 lead to halftime and cruise to an easy 41-13 victory from there.
Seeing Georgia blow the team who is potentially leading his recruitment out could change the narrative in his recruitment. It could make him think twice about actually wanting to play for Oklahoma instead of Georgia who proved they are a much better team right now. Regardless of how he feels when he compares the two programs it's clear that he left Athens last weekend feeling good about UGA and what they have to offer.
“They’ve got everything you can think of,” Hall continued. “They’ve got Coach [Tray] Scott. They’ve got coach Kirby [Smart]. They practice hard. They practice physical.”
Hall is the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2028 recruiting class. That means the competition is stiff and will be tough to defeat for Georgia, but it also means his recruitment is far from over. Hall has indicated he plans on committing in the early part of 2027 though, so Georgia has a couple more months to make their pitch to Hall.
NIL will matter to Hall, but it's unclear how much. All it might take for Georgia to win his recruitment though is a competitive NIL offer, but it remains to be seen if Smart is willing to do that for him or not.
