The worst thing that happened to Georgia on the recruiting trail last year was five-star quarterback Jared Curtis flipping to Vanderbilt. Everyone knows that Georgia will be fine in the long run without him, but it obviously would've been better to have Curtis in Athens instead.
But Curtis's departure opened the door for better things to happen, and this includes being put in the top four for the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class.

Jared Curtis's departure gave Georgia new hope with fellow 5-star QB
Elijah Haven is a five-star quarterback from Louisiana who is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 class according to 247Sports. He also is the No. 2 player in the country and the top ranked player from his home state.
Haven has always shown a lot of interest in Georgia throughout his recruitment, but UGA never seemed like a legit option for him. If Curtis, who is a five-star QB as well, was coming to Georgia, why would Haven want to sit behind him? But now that Curtis is out of the picture that has opened the door for Haven to become the future of Georgia's offense.
Also included in Haven's top four is Alabama, Florida and Auburn. The Crimson Tide however already have a crystall ball prediction in their favor to win this recruitment, but there is still plenty of time for Georgia to fight back.
The Bulldogs received some more good quarterback news as four-star 2026 quarterback Bryson Beaver has been predicted to commit to Georgia. UGA fans also shouldn't forget that the No. 1 QB in the 2028 class, Jayden Wade, has already committed to Georgia as well.
Haven would be the icing on the cake for Georgia at quarterback if he does choose the Bulldogs. It may not see likely right now, but he clearly is still interested in Georgia so anything is still possible.
