Elijah Haven is the one recruit the entire college football world is paying close attention to right now. He is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class who is inching closer to announcing his commitment on April 25.

Georgia is one of his finalists, but they unfortunately have been trailing Alabama who is the heavy favorite to win this recruitment. But Haven is giving Georgia one last shot to win his recruitment as he is in Athens on Thursday for one final visit before he commits.

Haven is everything that any school wants in their quarterback. That is why Kirby Smart has prioritized him throughout his entire recruitment. Haven has always given Georgia a lot of love, but ever since fellow five-star QB Jayden Wade committed to UGA things have slowed down.

Wade is in the 2028 recruiting class, so his commitment doesn't erase Georgia's need to add a quarterback in the 2027 class. But just like Haven, Wade is the No. 1 quarterback in the country in his recruiting class as well.

There is a chance this could turn Haven (and any other QB off) because they want to go to a school where they know they will have a chance to play. But Wade will have a chance to win the starting job when he arrives in Athens in two years, so that will make other quarterbacks think twice before committing to Georgia.

Players of Haven's caliber though may not be afraid of competition. So if he thinks Georgia is the right school for him then he is going to commit to UGA regardless of who else is also going to Georgia.

Unfortunately it still seems unlikely that Haven will end up committing to Georgia, but at this point the Bulldogs still have a chance. And sometimes that is all Smart needs to win a recruitment.
