The top ranked quarterback gave Georgia some terrible news.

Georgia is still searching for their quarterback commit in the 2027 recruiting class. Up to this point they haven't found much success with any of the players they have targeted, but they are in the final group for five-star quarterback Elijah Haven.

Haven isn't just any recruit, he is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class. Earning his commitment would not only take Georgia's class to the next level, but it would help secure their program for many years to come.

Unfortunately a new update has emerged in his recruitment which indicates that SEC rival Alabama is the clear favorite to win Haven's recruitment with his commitment date quickly approaching.

5-star Elijah Haven no longer is a realistic option for Georgia

Gone are the days where fans have to sit and wonder where a recruit is going to commit. That used to be the case in every recruitment, but now that information is known long before any player announces their commitment.

Haven's recruitment is no different.

He had previously been predicted to commit to Alabama by 247Sports, but Rivals is joining in on the Alabama hype train now as well. In fact, they give the Crimson Tide a 96.9 percent chance to win his recruitment.

Haven is expected to announce his commitment on April 25. That gives Kirby Smart a few weeks to come from behind and pull off what would be a shocking upset, but at this point that is unlikely to happen.

At the end of the day this loss really isn't that bad because Georgia already has a commitment from the nation's No. 1 quarterback in the 2028 class in Jayden Wade. On top of that, they still have a lot of talented QBs they are showing a lot of interest in from the 2027 class as well.

So while it would've been nice to win this recruitment that unfortunately will not be the case. But there isn't any reason to panic, except for the fact that he is going to an SEC rival.
