Georgia football's intense matchup with Texas this weekend will be anything anyone wants to talk about in Athens, but there are a lot of big things happening off the field this weekend as well. Kirby Smart and his staff are bringing in countless elite recruits on visits this weekend, but they don't get any bigger than five-star quarterback Elijah Haven.

Haven is the top ranked QB in the 2027 recruiting class and this weekend will be his first true visit to Georgia in his recruitment. This will give Smart and his staff a big opportunity to make an impression on Haven who unfortunately appears to be trending to one of Georgia's biggest SEC rivals at this point in his recruitment.

5-star QB is giving Georgia a chance to make a big move

Haven is fresh off a visit to Alabama this past weekend, and all reports have indicated that this visit went extremely well. This visit went so great for the Crimson Tide that Alabama received a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports to win this recruitment.

Haven however has given no indication that he plans to commit anytime soon, so Georgia still has time to catch up to Alabama and win this recruitment. And there will be no greater chance for them to do just that than this weekend when Haven is in town for Georgia's matchup with Texas.

At this point Georgia fans should not get their hopes up in this recruitment. Alabama is the clear favorite right now and this visit more or less seems like Haven is just making sure Georgia isn't a major player in his recruitment. But there is a chance the Bulldogs makes a huge impression on Haven and becomes a much larger player in his recruitment than what they are right now.
