Things are really beginning to ramp up in the recruitment for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. Curtis is fresh off unofficial visits to Georgia and Oregon, his two finalists, and the race between these two schools feels awfully close.
There are reasons why Kirby Smart and UGA should feel confident, but there are also reasons why Oregon should be feeling good as well. So as it stands today, no one really knows who is leading this recruitment.
There is a thought however that Curtis could announce a commitment in the coming weeks, but that is yet to be confirmed. But a cryptic message on social media posted by Curtis late Sunday night led many to think that a big announcement of some sort would be coming last night.
What does this mean?
The social media post from Curtis stated "News soon..." with a countdown that ended at 1:00 am EST early Monday morning. A lot of Georgia fans unfortunately stayed up for that countdown to end, and the reason it was unfrotunate was because no announcement was made. And as of 8:00 am EST on Monday morning, no announcement or news has been made yet.
It's unclear what news Curtis could be sharing right now. It seemed unlikely to be an official commitment because the No. 1 QB in the country wouldn't announce that in the middle of the night. But what else could it realistically be? And now that it's the morning, maybe that announcement could be coming any second now.
Or maybe Crutis is just a high school kid who is pulling a prank knowing people (like me) would jump on this post and write an article about it.
And the more time that passes without an announcement of some sort from Curtis, the more likely that he is just pulling an early April Fools prank on us all.
