The No. 1 quarterback in the country, Jared Curtis, may be nearing a final decision. Curtis was once a Georgia football commit last year, but he backed off that commitment because he wanted to pursue other schools. And during that pursuit, he realized that Georgia was one of his favorites still along with Oregon.

So Curtis made the decision to end his recruitment with every other program and focus on these two programs.

Curtis now is fresh off unofficial visits to both programs last week, and now that these visits are done there is a lot of new information coming out about his recruitment. And according to Adam Gorey with Rivals, both sides feel confident in their pitches to Curtis but are uncertain where he is leaning right now.

Reasons why Georgia and Oregon feel confident

"Curtis is really close with his family and the pitch has been made that they could drive to games at Georgia and that Oregon is very far away," Adam Gorey shared via Rivals.com. "But even after spending a few days in Athens, there hasn't been a final answer on whether Curtis will rejoin the class."

This information obviously really favors the Bulldogs, but there is another part that favors Oregon. NIL.

"There has been some talk that NIL will be an important consideration fo the five-star QB from Nashville (Tenn.) Christian which could play in Oregon's favor because of the Nike money that is essentially endless."

So who is the leader?

Last week On3 updated who their favorite was in Curtis's recruitment, and they named Georgia a slight favorite to land Curtis. And that is exactly how Gorey is feeling as he gives a "slight edge" to the Bulldogs.

However, Gorey was very adament that neither Georgia nor Oregon know how Curtis is feeling right now, so both teams still have a great chance to win.

The good news for Georgia fans is that they may not have to wait long for a commitment from Curtis. While no official commitment date has been set yet, Curtis is expected to announce his final decision in the coming weeks. And if he ends up committing to Georgia again, the Bulldogs would be well on their way to signing the No. 1 class in the country.
