Georgia football is once again involved in the most talked about recruitment in the country. That has become the norm in Athens under Kirby Smart, but that fact doesn’t make it any less exciting when Georgia is involved in such a high profile recruitment.
This time however it is with a quarterback, and that player is Jared Curtis.
According to On3’s Industry rankings, Curtis is a five-star recruit and the No. 1 QB in the country. He is also the top ranked recruit from his home state of Tennessee and the No. 5 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class as well.
Georgia and Oregon are the two finalists for Curtis, and it seems like Curtis is going to take his time with these two schools in his recruitment. Curtis has official visits lined up with both schools later summer, but he is also in the midst of a couple unofficial visits with both schools as well.
Curtis just wrapped up his time with Oregon and he is now in Athens for the next few days to visit campus once again and watch the team during spring practice. This visit, along with the trip to Oregon over the last few days, are clearly very important in his recruitment, so any intel that comes out of these visits could help piece his recruitment together to see who the leader is.
And some new intel just came out that favors Georgia.
On3 names Georgia the favorite for Jared Curtis
No one has known for sure who the leader for Curtis has been recently, but that changed on Thursday as On3 named Georgia the team to beat in his recruitment. The recruiting site currently gives the Bulldogs a 37 percent chance to win this recruitment, which is slightly better odds than Oregon has at 31 percent.
This small lead may not seem that significant, but the fact this update came one day after Curtis visited Oregon really adds some perspective to it.
This recruitment however still has a long way to go. Even if Georgia is the current leader, there is a great chance Oregon could pass the Bulldogs at some point, so Smart and his staff can’t afford to let up in their pursuit of Curtis.
