Georgia football has been after a lot of quarterbacks both from the high school ranks and in the transfer portal, and one of those targets was 2025 QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Sagapolutele is one of the top players in the country in the 2025 class and is someone that Kirby Smart and Georgia expressed a lot of interest in towards the end of the recruiting cycle.

Sagapolutele was originally committed to Cal before he began to show interest in a few other schools towards the end of 2024. Georgia was one of those schools Sagapolutele thought about flipping to, and he had multiple visits scheduled to Athens for the Tennessee and Georgia Tech games. However, both of those visits were cancelled because of his high school team's schedule and his interest in Oregon, who he eventually flipped to on Dec. 4 and signed with.

However, Sagapolutele must not like what he saw in Oregon since signing with the Ducks as he has already entered the transfer portal and is looking for a new school.

Could Georgia get involved again?

As mentioned, Georgia football showed a lot of interest in Sagapolutele late in the recruiting cycle, but after he chose Oregon the Bulldogs pivoted and found a new QB to join their 2025 recruiting class. That player was Hezekiah Millender, who ended up committing and signing with Geogia. Millender joins Ryan Montgomery as the two QBs in Georgia's 2025 recruiting class, which is already more QBs than you typically see in any one recruiting class.

So will Smart even have interest in bringing a third QB from the 2025 class in the fold at Georgia? It honestly would be a little surprising and who knows if Sagapolutele would even want to be the third QB from the 2025 class to commit to Georgia. But at the same time, Smart and his staff have pursued multiple QBs from the transfer portal already, so they do seem motivated to add another QB for next fall.

The most likely scenario however is that Smart and his staff bring in an experienced transfer versus a true freshman, but since Georgia already showed a lot of interest in Sagapolutele once then there is a chance they could get involved once again.
