Five-star running back Kemon Spell has quickly become a top prospect for Georgia. Spell, who is the No. 1 running back in the 2027 recruiting class, was previously committed to Penn State, but after the Nittany Lions fired James Franklin he immediately decommitted from their program.
Georgia was already making progress with Spell before this announcement, so many believed Georgia was the team to beat in his recruitment. But Spell ultimately decided to do his due dilligence and schedule a few visits for the rest of this season. Thankfully Georgia was included in that group as the Bulldogs will reportedly host Spell for their matchup with Texas on Nov. 15.

On the surface this is very good news for Georgia, but it may be too little too late for the Bulldogs because Notre Dame has already been predicted to win Spell's recruitment.
Kemon Spell expected to spurn Georgia for Notre Dame
Spell has reportedly scheduled five visits for the remainder of this season. This includes the trip to Georgia for their matchup with Texas along with visits to Syracuse, Miami, Oregon and Michigan.
However, these four schools are not Georgia's biggest competition for Spell. That title belongs to Notre Dame who hosted Spell on a visit this past weekend. This visit apparently went extremely well because On3's Steve Wiltfong has predicted Spell to commit to the Irish with a confidence level of 60 percent.
Georgia in theory still has a chance to win this recruitment since he is still going to visit Athens, but no one should be holding their breath. Spell appears to be as locked in as possible with Notre Dame, and it's likely just a matter of time until he makes his commitment official.
Kirby Smart has flipped the script in recruitments before though, so whenever he has a player on his radar there is always a chance Georgia comes out on top.
