Georgia football has been one of the top programs in five-star running back Savion Hiter's recruitment for quite some time now. That sentiment became even more true when Hiter put Georgia in his top four just a few weeks ago.
But a new update about Hiter's recruitment was recently shared by Rivals, and Georgia was not even mentioned as a team still in the running in Hiter's recruitment.

Georgia falling short for 5-star RB
According to the above report from Rivals, Michigan and Tennessee are the two teams who still stand a chance at landing Hiter's commitment later this month. Georgia and Ohio State were also named finalists by Hiter, but it no longer appears that either program still has a chance.
The Wolverines have been the team trending for Hiter for the last few months, so it isn't that shocking to find out that Michigan still has a lead over Georgia in this recruitment. But Hiter not that long ago gave Georgia a chance to win his recruitment so one would think he would still be talking about UGA. That however does not appear to be the case and it seems like all hope for Georgia in this recruitment is lost.
Hiter is scheduled to announce his commitment later this month on Aug. 19. Georgia theoretically has time to catch up to Michigan and win this recruitment, but no UGA fan should be holding their breath expecting that to happen.
So at this point all Georgia fans can hope for is that Michigan defeats Tennessee in this recruitment. The last thing any Georgia fan should want is Hiter, who is the No. 1 running back in the country, playing for a different SEC program, so if he isn't going to pick Georgia hopefully he chooses Michigan to stay out of the SEC.
