Georgia football earned a first round by in the College Football Playoff again this season, so there really isn't anything for their fans to cheer for during the first round next weekend. However, there are a few former Bulldogs that could be fun for UGA fans to follow when Georgia isn't playing.

In fact, there are six former Georgia football players that will be playing during the first round of the playoff next weekend.

1. Miami vs Texas A&M

A whopping four Georgia transfers will be playing in the first round matchup featuring Miami and Texas A&M. Everyone knows about Miami quarterback Carson Beck and all the drama that surrounded his departure from Georgia this past offseason, but he is not the only former Bulldog playing in this game.

Beck is the only Bulldog turned Hurricane, so there are three former Georgia Bulldogs playing for Texas A&M. This includes kicker Jared Zirkel, corner Julio Humphrey and linebacker Sam M'Pemba.

Even though there are three former Bulldogs playing for the Aggies, Georgia should want Miami to win. If UGA and Miami keep winning they would meet in the semifinals, and facing Beck at this point in the season is too good to pass up.

This matchup will take place at Noon EST on Saturday, Dec. 20.

2. Alabama vs Oklahoma

The SEC rematch taking place in the first round features one former Bulldog in Oklahoma defensive lineman Marvin Jones.

Jones spent two years at Georgia where he recorded 16 tackles and two sacks. He then made a stop at Florida State for one season before ending up at Oklahoma for his final season of college football.

So far this year he has recorded 19 tackles and one sack in a reserve role for the Sooners. He will see the field a fair amount in this matchup and will look to take down Alabama for the second time this season. This matchup is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19 at 8:00 pm EST.

3. James Madison vs Oregon

The sixth and final Georgia transfer playing in the first round of the playoff is Oregon defensive lineman Bear Alexander.

Alexander only spent one season at Georgia in 2022 where he recorded nine tackles and two sacks. It looked like he had a bright future in store for him at UGA, but after that season he entered the Transfer Portal and made the move to USC. He had a phenominal sophomore season with the Trojans, but after two seasons with USC he made the move one more time to Oregon.

So far this season Alexander has racked up 45 tackles. He is a leader on Oregon's defense and will certainly be someone that makes a big impact for the Ducks in this game and beyond. This matchup is the final first round game of the playoff this season and is scheduled for 7:30 pm EST on Saturday, Dec. 20.
