Tuesday marked Georgia football's opportunity to participate at the 2025 SEC Media Days. Kirby Smart discussed a wide range of topics throughout the day, but the one thing Georgia fans likely will care about most are the injury updates he had to share.

And a total of seven important updates were shared about the Bulldogs who were injured at the end of last season and during spring practice this year.

Punter Brett Thorson is closing in on his return

One of the most important injuries Georgia fans have been tracking since the 2024 SEC Championship game is punter Brett Thorson. During Georgia's win against Texas, Thorson unfortunately tore his ACL in his plant leg.

Smart was specifically asked about Thorson's progress on Tuesday and he bshared that he still has some work to do to get back to full health.

"He’s done a good job," Smart said of Thorson via dawgnation.com. “I can’t sit here and tell you if he’ll be the starting punter. It depends on his health. But he’s starting some punting.”

This update makes it seem like Thorson won't be quite ready to go for week one this season, but Thorson should be expected to make his return at some point this season.

DB Daylen Everette says he is back to full health

Defensive back Daylen Everette is one of the Bulldogs who as at Media Days on Tuesday, and after suffering a sports hernia injury this spring he shared that he is back to full health.

"I feel a lot better,” Everette shared at SEC Media Days. “Haven’t really been limited anymore. Being back, it feels great. Being limited is not fun to do. You’re sitting out and seeing everybody. You want to be out there.”

4 more Bulldogs who are back to full health

Defensive lineman Christen Miller and offensive lineman Monroe Freeling both suffered shoulder injuries during spring practice earlier this year. Both injuries were minor, but they were kept out of pracitce the rest of spring just to be safe. Smart however shared on Tuesday that both Miller and Freeling are back to full health.

Smart also shared that tight end Jaden Reddell and linebacker Quintaivus Johnson are both close to full health after having surgeries to repair their injured ankles. Both are expected to be 100 percent healthy before the start of fall camp which is a great sign for them both.

CB Ondre Evans will not be back for the start of the season

Last but not least is corner Ondre Evans, who tore his ACL during a spring practice. This injury is much more recent than Thorson, so it is likely that he has a longer road to recovery still. Smart didn't share too many specifics about his recovery, but he did confirm on Tuesday that Evans will not be ready for the start of the 2025 season.
