Georgia football running back Chauncey Bowens has been out for the Bulldogs' last two games. An official update on what injury he has been dealing with and a potential timeline for his return was never shared, but it was always made to seem like he could be out for a significant amount of time.
That however changed when a report surfaced Tuesday night about Bowens being back on the practice field this week.

We previously told @DawgsCentral_ subscribers that Bowens has been recovering from what has been called an injury "between the toes."
An exact timetable for return remains unknown https://t.co/Vmv2wGXbF0
Chauncey Bowens' injury status is better than expected
When Bowens' injury was first reported it seemed like there was a chance he could miss a good chunk of the year if not the rest of the season. Maybe that was Georgia just thinking about the worst-case scenario, but it now feels like that isn't a possibility anymore.
So after just two weeks of being out, Bowens is back on the practice field for Georgia. He is only participating in agility drills though so he still has a lot of work to do before he can play in a game again, but this update came much sooner than anticipated.
Based on what was shared in the past it wouldn't have been surprising to go the next few weeks without even hearing about Bowens. He was expected to be out for a long time, so Georgia fans were already thinking about life without him for the next few weeks.
There's a chance he could still be out for the next few weeks though, but at this point is seems like he will be back at some point this season.
Potential timeline for a Chauncey Bowens' return
Bowens almost certainly will not be able to play this weekend against Florida. Sure he is participating in agility drills in practice, but he will have to be able to practice during full contact drills before Georgia ever brings him back.
It's still hard to predict when Bowens could make his return to a game though. Other than the Florida game this weekend it feels like he could be healthy enough to play in any game this season, but Kirby Smart likes to keep injury information hidden so fans likely won't know he is playing again until the day of that game he returns.
Georgia should be just fine without Bowens though. Nate Frazier is back from injury so Georgia finally has an adequat amount of depth they can rely on in the backfield. Dwight Phillips and Bo Walker played well especially when Frazier was still injured, so these three will be able to pick up the slack while Bowens gets healthy.
Georgia's offense is at their best though when Bowens is in the lineup, so hopefully he will be able to return soon. This update Tuesday night though is exactly what Georgia needs to see because it makes it seem like Bowens will back at some point during the regular season which wasn't the case just two weeks ago.
Georgia's first official injury report for the Florida game will be released Wednesday night. Bowens likely will be ruled out, but maybe there's a chance his status will be better than that.
