Georgia hasn't had to truly worry about Florida in a long time. The Gators always like to say this will be the year they finally beat Georgia again, but every time they come up short just like the year prior. Aaron Murray however thinks this could be Florida's season after their dominant 66-21 week one victory over FAU.
Just like with Georgia's big win over Tennessee State it is hard to give Florida too much credit just for beating a team like FAU. They need to show how good they can be against a legit opponent first before anyone gives them too much respect, but Murray called the Florida game on the SEC Network and left thinking that Florida could have one of the best offenses in the country and it's hard to deny that at this point in the season.

Florida's offense could be a problem for Georgia
Scoring 66 points against anyone is impressive. Georgia nearly did the same thing against Tennessee State as they put up 63 points, but FAU is a step up in competition from Tennessee State who is in the FCS so Florida's offensive output is more impressive.
Florida was led by transfer quarterback Aaron Philo who completed 16 of 21 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 20 yards and another touchdown as well.
Running back Jadan Baugh looked like a superstar in the making as he ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns on just 14 carries. Vernell Brown led the way catching the ball with six receptions for 117 yards and one score.
As mentioned, no one should take too much away from this game since it was only FAU, but Florida's offense the past few years never looked this good against the lesser competition they faced. In fact, just last year they lost to a similar team in USF 18-16. Florida could be back and they may actually have one of the top offenses in the country, but before Georgia gets too concerned they should wait and see how they handle Auburn and Ole Miss in weeks three and four who are their first true tests this year.
One big reason Georgia shouldn't worry about Florida yet
66 points is a big number to see against any team, but giving up 21 points against FAU is a lot too. Georgia only gave up three points to Tennessee State, so that alone shows how much better their defense might be compared to Florida.
If a team like FAU can score 21 points on Florida then Georgia could realistically expect to score a lot more than that. So while Florida's offense may be strong this season, their defense might not be able to slow down Gunner Stockton and the Georgia offense who scored a touchdown in all five drives they played on Saturday.
Georgia and Florida play on Halloween this season, so there are still about two months of football for both teams to play before they battle in Atlanta this season. We will have more of an idea about how good both teams are by that time, but at this point it looks like Florida will have a strong offense but a defense that Georgia can expose.
