Georgia football losing Jared Curtis from their recruiting class was the worse case scenario. Curtis was supposed to be the future of Georgia's quarterback room, but after his betrayal fans were left wondering what Kirby Smart and his staff were going to do next.
Curtis's decision to flip to Vanderbilt could have an immediate impact on Georgia next season if Gunner Stockton decides to depart for the NFL Draft. There are no indications that this is what he intends to do, but it is an option he has if he is ready to begin his pro career. And if he does leave Curtis likely would've been Georgia's starter next season.
Thankfully Aaron Murray came to Georgia's rescue as he said he believes Stockton will be back next season.
"Gunner Stockton will be back next year."

Aaron Murray said what every Georgia fan has been waiting to hear
It is worth mentioning that this is just a prediction from Murray, he is not reporting this as something that is a guarantee. But Murray knows what it takes to be successful in college and what an NFL ready quarterback looks like, and he doesn't think Stockton is there yet.
However, there's no telling what could happen if Stockton finishes the season strong. Imagine if Georgia goes on to win the SEC and College Football Playoff behind four amazing performances from Stockton. His stock would never be higher, so it could be hard for him to not use that to his advantage and depart for the NFL Draft.
But Georgia fans should really hope Stockton returns for one more season no matter how this year finishes because this would give Smart an extra year to prepare for life after Stockton. And with Curtis no longer in the fold, the future of Georgia's quarterback room is as uncertain as ever before.
