Gunner Stockton has exceeded all expectations set before him this season. Entering this year Georgia hadn't had a quarterback receive more disrespect than Stockton received, but he didn't let it phase him as he went on to lead Georgia to an 11-1 record and an appearance in the SEC Championship game.

Stockton's season is (hopefully) far from over, but it's impossible to not think about what could be next for him. He still has another year of eligibility that he could use to play one more season in Athens, but he also could declare for the NFL Draft as well.

Stockton was asked about his plans for next year on Monday, and he unsurprisingly did not say what he is planning on doing next year.

“I haven’t thought about any of that. I walked with senior day because those are all the guys I came in with. Just a moment to look back and appreciate that.”

Gunner Stockton discusses his plans for next season

Georgia celebrated their seniors two weeks ago during their win over Charlotte, and Stockton made the decision to be recognized and walk with the rest of his senior teammates. This was a bit surprising because many felt like it was a guarantee that he will return next season, but this looked like he may have already decided this year is his last season at Georgia.

Stockton however was quick to say that him walking with his teammates during their final home game did not mean anything for his future. He said that he hasn't made a decision one way or another, and at this point in the season that is probably the smart thing to do.

Stockton hasn't received a lot of love from NFL Draft analysts, but most rankings have him inside the top 20 among all draft eligible quarterbacks. This means with a good finish this year he very easily could be drafted, but that may not matter to him.

Georgia likely won't find out what Stockton's future plans are until the season is over, but when the season does end his future plans will quickly become the biggest offseason storyline to follow.
