Andrew Smart, Kirby Smart's son, has been around the Georgia football program ever since his dad became head coach. Up to this point he hasn't been able to contribute in any meaningful way, but on Saturday he was spotted all over the field during warmups.
He was seen helping Gunner Stockton get loose, but later he was spotted hanging out with and potentially helping recruit five-star David Jacobs who was visiting Athens on Saturday.

Jacobs is the No. 1 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class. He is also the No. 1 player from the state of Georgia which makes him a top target for UGA. He unfortunately committed to Ohio State last December, but Georgia has remained in contact with him since then.
This was Jacobs first visit to Georgia since committing to Ohio State. His arrival to campus made headlines as Ohio State seemingly had his commitment locked up, but this visit made it seem like Georgia may have a chance to flip him.
With Andrew Smart in his ear maybe he'll be able to help convince him to flip to Georgia, but according to reports that is going to be extremely difficult to do even after this visit.
Georgia's chances to flip David Jacobs is less than people might assume
Jacobs never opened up too much about the specifics of why he chose Ohio State over Georgia last December. Knowing Georgia typically has offers a smaller NIL deal for top prospects compared to other schools it could have something to do with that, but Georgia is trying to get their foot back in the door with less than three months to go in Jacobs' recruitment.
Unfortunately Matt DeBary with Georgia Bulldogs on SI isn't confident this visit moved the needle.
"Sources say this could be a tough flip to pull off," Matt DeBary said via si.com. "Still, getting him back on campus is always important if they continue to make him a priority in this class."
Jacobs' younger brother Dawson was also visiting campus as well and it sounds like he was the main focus during this trip. His relationship seems to be going well with Georgia, but for whatever reason his older brother tagged along. Jacobs' younger brother is a four-star recruit in the 2028 class, so he is a player Georgia could use in their future recruiting class, but they desperately want David Jacobs to flip to them. Unfortunately it seems like there is still a lot of work to do.
Anything is possible in recruiting, so until he signs with Ohio State in December there is always a little hope. That is especially the case with a head coach like Kirby Smart who is one of if not the best coach in all of college football, and the fact that Jacobs is from Georgia doesn't hurt their chances either.
Maybe Georgia will make up more ground in the coming months, but for now no one should count on Jacobs flipping to UGA as he still looks locked in with the Buckeyes.
