Who says three is company? In something Georgia football now calls, "The Standard", Kirby Smart and his Georgia Bulldogs football program have once again sent multiple players to the NFL ranks in the first round, with the latest rendition occurring last night during the 2025 NFL Draft.

Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker and Malaki Starks were selected 11th, 15th and 27th during the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, respectively.

Georgia tied Texas and Michigan as schools with three formers players selected in the first round. Only reigning national champion Ohio State had more first round picks with four.

Mykel Williams

Williams was the first former Dawg off the board when he was taken eleventh overall by the San Francisco 49ers. Williams seemingly began making 49ers history the moment his name was called by becoming the first former Bulldog to be taken by San Francisco in the first round in franchise history.

Williams, who will not turn 21 until late June, brings freakish size and ability that so many NFL teams covet. Williams tallied a total of 21 tackles, including five sacks in 2024. However, it was widely speculated that Williams played the majority of the 2024 season injured, which undoubtedly impacted his statistics and abilities on the football field. Despite this, the 49ers had no lingering concerns with Williams' injury history and still took him with the 11th overall pick in the draft.

Jalon Walker

For the millions of Bulldog fans that follow the NFL, quite naturally the high majority are Atlanta Falcons fans. However, to the bewilderment and even at times disdain from Bulldog Nation, the love for Georgia football was not always reciprocated by the home state Falcons.

That was until last night, when the Falcons selected Walker with the fifteenth pick in the draft. This finally gave Bulldog-Dirty Bird nation reason to celebrate.

Walker gives the Falcons a skill set that their team desperate needs, getting to the quarterback. He finished his final season as a Bulldog with 61 tackles, including 6.5 sacks. He also was the 2024 recipient of the Butkus Award, which goes to the nation's top linebacker.

Malaki Starks

The last former Dawg to hear his name called in the first round was fan-favorite Malaki Starks, who was taken with the 27th pick by the Baltimore Ravens.

Starks lead the Bulldogs in tackles (77) in 2024. However, it is Starks ability to cover and diagnose plays which will be what the Ravens will be counting on. He will be teamed up with former Notre Dame safety and fellow Georgia native Kyle Hamilton, which will potentially give the Ravens one of the youngest and most dynamic safety tandems in the NFL.
