Georgia football put the finishing touches on their SEC season on Saturday by knocking off No. 10 Texas 35-10. The Bulldogs played a near perfect game in all three phases of the game, but it was their defense that really stood out.

Georgia's defense has really struggled all season especially when it comes to their secondary and defending opponents passing game. That made facing Arch Manning and the Texas passing attack a real concern since they very easily could have carved Georgia's defense up, but that did not happen. Instead Georgia's defense shut Texas down all night and contained Manning for the entire game.

But instead of giving Georgia's defense any credit after the game, all Manning could say was that he and his offense "didn't play well."

Arch Manning refuses to say anything nice about Georgia's defense

Georgia could not have asked for a better performance from their defense on Saturday. Anyone would have signed up for giving up 10 points before the game began, but it was the manner in which Georgia gave up those points that was really impressive.

Six of Georgia's SEC opponents this season have scored a touchdown on their opening drive of the game, so holding Texas to a field goal on their first drive was a big win. After that the only other drive Texas scored on came after a Gunner Stockton interception that gave them very good field position. So Texas had to be handed their touchdown drive on a silver platter, they didn't do much on offense to earn it.

Georgia also forced a timely interceptions and sacked Manning three times as well.

But even though Georgia's defense played lights out, Manning didn't want to give them any credit. But that's okay because Georgia knows how great they played, so they don't need Manning to give them any credit because it was clear how much they made him struggle.
