College football fans have had a lot of opinions about former Georgia football quarterback Carson Beck after he decided to enter the transfer portal and transfer to Miami (FL). A lot of those opinions, even from UGA fans, were very neutral and hoping that this decision works out for Beck. However, there were some people who were very upset with Beck, and they made sure everyone knew how they were feeling.
One of those people was 680 The Fan's Chris Dimino, a broadcaster for an Atlanta radio station. Dimino had a very strong opinion about Beck's decision to transfer to Miami, specifically about a viral video that Beck's girlfriend Hanna Cavinder posted hours after Beck announced his decision to transfer to Miami.
"What are you doing dancing with your girlfriend 48 hours after you go into the portal," Dimino said via athlonsports.com.
"And then you’re sort of doing this whole thing. I don’t know. You look like an idiot, which by the way, she (Hanna Cavinder) basically just pushed you aside on top of everything else. I saw the video. She was just like, ‘No, this is my time, brother. I do social media. You just stand there. Stand there and look goofy.’”
Did Beck do anything wrong in this video?
It's clear that Dimino is not happy that Beck chose to post this video with his girlfriend, and while it is a little upsetting to see for Georgia fans, did Beck actually do anything wrong in the below video?
Sure Beck looks awkward and uncomfortable in this video, but that likely has to do with him being a quarterback and not a dancer. But overall, it's really hard to say that he did anything wrong. Sure the timing of the video is a little strange since it was posted very quickly after Beck made his commitment official, but what else is he supposed to do? Is Beck not supposed to be happy with his decision?
Just think if roles were reversed and a new Georgia transfer posted a video similar to this online. Georgia fans would probably love the video and be thrilled that a new transfer is this excited to be heading to Georgia. No Georgia fan would be slamming them for doing this.
So all things considered, Beck maybe could have waited a little longer to have this video posted, but anyone who's upset by this is overreacting.
