Anyone who thought the drama from Georgia's win over Auburn was over couldn't have been more wrong. On Wednesday word came out that an official was permanently suspended by the SEC because of all of the many controversial moments that occurred during the game.

Many of those moments went in Georgia's favor, so this left Auburn fans furious because they thought they should have won this game. Apparently their fans aren't the only ones still upset because Auburn Athletic Director John Cohen reportedly had a hand in getting the official suspended by the SEC.

Auburn AD facing scrutiny after Georgia-Auburn controversy

Officials have made mistakes in every sporting event that has ever occurred in the history of the world. They also will continue to make errors for as long as competitive sports are played in this world. While officials do deserve to be held accountable for their egregious mistakes, errors by refs is just part of the game.

But Auburn's Athletic Director believes an official from their loss to Georgia did such a bad job that they should be suspended. And the SEC apparently agreed with him.

Auburn fans aren't the only ones who are upset with this official as Ryan Stano with Scarlet & Game (an Ohio State blog) went after this same official for ruining their chances of beating Clemson in their 2019 College Football Playoff matchup. So there apparently is a long history of terrible moments for this official, and the SEC has finally said they have had enough.

Whether or not this official should have been suspended is one debate, but every SEC fan should be happy to see the conference finally crack down on their officials. They have been too bad for too long across the board, so if one official has to be sacrificed in order for everyone to improve overall, then that is a sacrifice worth making.
