Georgia football's big game against Texas this weekend gives UGA a great opportunity to have a big recruiting weekend. Kirby Smart and his staff are taking advantage of that by hosting a lot of elite recruits on campus this weekend.
There are a handful recruits visiting this weekend however that are extra important to Georgia, but the three quarterbacks visiting top that list. Georgia reportedly is having the top ranked quarterback in the 2026, 2027 and 2028 recruiting classes all visit Athens this weekend, and while that is a very good thing it could create some awkward moments as well.
Georgia's awkward QB encounter highlights busy recruiting weekend
The fact that Georgia is having the top ranked quarterback in three different recruiting class all visit Athens at the same time is extremely impressive. This includes Jared Curtis who is committed to Georgia and will head to campus next season as well as Elijah Haven in the 2027 class and Jayden Wade in the 2028 class.
While each player is in a different recruiting class, typically a top ranked quarterback expects to play the moment they step foot on campus. But that obviuosly can't happen for all three of these players if they all choose to go to Georgia. So that could create some awkward tension this weekend as they size each other up knowing they could be competing for a starting job at Georgia in the coming years.
Georgia already has Curtis coming to Athens next season, so Haven and Wade will have to decide if they want to follow him and potentially sit behind him at the start of their careers. Haven looks like he is not interested in that because he is leaning towards a different SEC school, but Wade was predicted to commit to Georgia when he announces his commitment on Sunday. So Haven could quickly be turned off of Georgia this weekend once he finds out that Wade is likely going to be a Bulldog as well.
It will be interesting to see how all three of these visits go this weekend, but if Georgia ends up with two of these three quarterbacks that obviously is a massive win for the program.
