Georgia football's wide receiver room looks much different this year than it did in 2024. That is probably a good thing though considering the Bulldogs led the nation in drops last season.
There are a few wide receivers from last year who are still on the team this season who are ready to prove that they can lead the group this year, and one of those receivers is London Humphreys. Humphreys has already stood out during fall camp when the media has been present for practice, but Kirby Smart recently gave him a public shoutout that confirms he will play a big role on the team this season.
"Yeah, London has been great. He's a high-quality special teams player, has become very reliable, made some huge plays for us last year in the Clemson game, the Tennessee game," Smart shared via 247sports.com. "He does a lot of really good things for us. He has consistency in performance, he has dependability, he's got fire passion and energy. We're very fortunate to have someone of his character, quality, speed, athleticism, so we've got a lot of expectations for him."
London Humphreys is gearing up for a big 2025 season
It's unclear if Humphreys will be a starter this season, but more than likely he will come off the bench once again. But even if that is the case, that won't stop him from having another big season.
Last year during his first season in Athens, Humphreys was able to record 15 receptions for 244 yards and two touchdowns. This by no means was an extremely impressive season, but it was quite solid for the limited amount of playing time he received.
Based on the intel that has come out of fall camp, Humphreys will see more playing time this season. And based on his track record alone, he more than likely will emerge as one of Georgia's most reliable wide receivers and someone UGA will be able to rely on even more in the future.
