The College GameDay crew tends to be a little biased towards the home team, and how could they not be with thousands of screaming fans right behind them throughout their show. The GameDay crew try to remain unbiased when making their predictions each week though, but this week in Tuscaloosa they let their bias shine through.

College GameDay chose to visit the biggest game in the SEC potentially this season as No. 2 Georgia travels to No. 6 Alabama Saturday night. No college football fan needs to be told how big of a deal it is whenever these two teams meet, but this weekend specifically is about as big as it gets for a regular season game.

College GameDay is in Tuscaloosa to help hype up this game, and each member of the crew just made their picks for the Georgia vs Alabama game. Instead of putting their bias to the side three of the four members of the crew picked Alabama over Georgia.

This week is Nick Saban's first appearance at Alabama since joining the GameDay crew. It would've been really surprising if he didn't pick Alabama and that same sentiment is true for celebrity picker Bryce Young who is a former Crimson Tide quarterback.

Fans would love to see them put their bias aside, but that did not happen. Instead they both picked Alabama along with Desmond Howard with only one prediction in favor of Georgia.

Maybe this will help motivate Georgia even more this evening, but in reality Kirby Smart and his team likely couldn't care less who the GameDay crew picked to win.

What's at stake in the Georgia vs Alabama game?

Georgia's matchup against Alabama has massive implications on the SEC Championship race, but it may not impact the College Football Playoff picture all that much.

The winner of this game will have a big advantage to make it to Atlanta to play in the SEC Championship game this season over the loser. The loser wouldn't be eliminated because they could still qualify over the other 14 teams in the SEC if they all lose one conference game, but in order to make it to Atlanta instead of the winner they would need the winner to lose twice throughout the rest of the season. Neither Georgia or Alabama are that likely to lose twice after this game, so the winner will have as good of a chance as anyone to make it to Atlanta.

This matchup will also impact the CFP as well, just not as much. The winner will give themselves a great chance to make the playoff because they could still lose two more games and make the playoff field. On the flip side the loser could only lose one more time if they want to make the playoff. Georgia and Alabama would both still have a good chance to make the playoff if they lose this game, but the winner will have much better odds.

Bragging rights are also on the line in this game, but Georgia and Alabama both have championship aspirations that are far more important than any amount of bragging rights. The first step for both teams in winning a championship this year is winning this game, so that is why this showdown is arguably the biggest game of the regular season for both teams.

Kickoff between Georgia and Alabama is scheduled for 7:30 pm EST Saturday night.
