Has any player taken over the NFL faster than Georgia football legend Brock Bowers? There definitely have been some quarterbacks who have become stars at a similar rate as Bowers, but it really is impossible to become one of the best players in the NFL faster than Bowers did.

Bowers greatness reached a new level this week as he was named the No. 24 overall player in the NFL entering the 2025 season.

The fact that he is already the 24th best player in the NFL is hard to comprehend, but he also is the highest ranked tight end in the league as well. This matches what NFL coaches and players said about Bowers earlier this offseason as well when they voted him the No. 1 tight end in the NFL.

Bowers ready to take on new role in Las Vegas

Bowers is entering his second season in the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders. Everyone knows how dominant Bowers was during his rookie season, and while he was a leader on the field he did not have to be a vocal leader off the field.

There aren't many rookies who are called upon to be a voice inside the locker room, and it's unlikely that Bowers was for most of his rookie season last year. That however will be changing this season as Bowers is respected by everyone and will be someone other young guys look up to.

This is a role that Bowers filled at Georgia, so he will be ready to step up and lead the Raiders both on and off the field. And hopefully that leads to more team success this season, because the Raiders weren't even close to making the playoffs last year and Bowers has the ability to carry any team to a playoff run if they can get there.
