Georgia is a proud fanbase. They more than any other fanbase in the county cheer for their former players in the NFL long after their college days are done.
Tight end Brock Bowers continues to be one of Georgia’s favorite players, and that’s what makes it so difficult to watch him struggle with the Las Vegas Raiders. Bowers has had an excellent start to his career individually, but he is yet to find any sort of team success in the league.
That however could change next year because the Raiders earned the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
The Raiders can finally give Brock Bowers some help
Through two seasons in the NFL Bowers has recorded 12 touchdowns and nearly 2,000 receiving yards. He would have eclipsed 2,000 yards this year if he didn’t deal with a few injuries that forced him to miss two games. But even though his numbers decreased this year he is still regarded as one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
Unfortuantely the Raiders went 3-14 this season which was the worst record in the NFL. That however means they get the first pick in this summer’s NFL Draft which could be used to get Bowers some help.
The Raiders will likely use that pick to draft a quarterback with Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza as the likely choice. But regardless of who the Raiders pick they should be able to come in and finally help Bowers out.
Bowers has already had an impressive career, and that has come on the worst team in the NFL over the past two seasons. So imagine what he could do if he has a competent QB and offense around him?
Bowers proved he can be the focal point of a championship winning offense at Georgia, and the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft could be exactly what the Raiders needed to let Bowers shine on a winning team.
