After an eight-year NFL career Nick Chubb announced his retirement from football in August. He spent seven of his eight season in Cleveland with his final year taking place with the Texans in Houston. Chubb however had dreams of retiring as a Brown, and this week the Browns signed him to a one day deal to make his dream come true.

Chubb will also be honored during the Browns game this Sunday as well, but the festivities have been unfolding all week.

The Browns, coached by former Georgia football assistant Todd Monken, even let Chubb end a practice this week after highlighting his impressive career in front of the entire team.

Nick Chubb left a mark that goes far beyond wins and losses
Chubb had an impressive career both at Georgia and in the NFL. At Georgia he finished his college career with nearly 4,800 rushing yards and 44 touchdowns. He was then taken with the 35th overall pick at the 2018 NFL Draft by the Browns where he immediately took the league by storm.
During his first season he came up just four yards short of a 1,000 yard season, but the next four years he eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark with a career high 1,525 yards in 2022. He finished his career just shy of 7,400 rushing yards and 54 touchdowns.
Chubb's stats both in college and the NFL speak for themselves, but who he was as a person was always the most important thing to him. There's a reason he is still beloved by Georgia football fans and why Cleveland is allowing him to retire as a Brown, because he is a good person.
Chubb cared about every single teammate, coach and member of both the Georgia football program and Browns organization. He also cared about his community and the fans as he always went out of his way to be as involved with their communities as much as he could. Chubb is the type of player that coaches dream of having, and for Georgia and Cleveland those wishes came true.
Throughout the final few years of his career Chubb struggled with injuries, but that never changed who he was as a person. Chubb was still the same guy even after dealing with multiple injuries, and that's why the Browns signed him to a one day contract and why they will honor him on Sunday.
Chubb was a special player and his impact will be felt at Georgia and in Cleveland for many more years even though his playing days are over.
