The college football world is in crisis mode. Now that the regular season is over this usually is the time that the coaching carousel begins. Typically that only occurs with teams who had bad seasons and didn’t make the College Football Playoff, but that isn’t the case this year.

Multiple programs with CFP aspirations are dealing with off the field drama related to head coach movement. On top of that, many elite programs find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff altogether.

But Georgia is as stable as they have ever been under Kirby Smart, and that puts them in a great position entering postseason play.

Georgia is a stable program in a college football world full of panic and turmoil

Georgia is in as good of a spot as they can possibly be right now. They are 11-1, a top four team in the country, in the SEC Championship game and will make the college football playoff even if they lose to Alabama in Atlanta this weekend. It is impossible for their situation to get any better, and everyone should be thankful for that because not many other programs can say that right now.

Ole Miss is dealing with as much turmoil as possible right now after Lane Kiffin announced his departure to LSU on Sunday. This came right before the Rebels were going to make their first playoff appearance in program history, so who knows how they are going to handle that.

Alabama is another team dealing with some off the field distractions as well. Kalen DeBoer has been rumored to be linked with the Penn State job the last few weeks and the Crimson Tide have the added pressure of missing the playoff if they lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship game.

Then there are the few teams who are panicking right now who think they should be in the playoff but are on the outside looking in. Miami, Texas and Vanderbilt are a few of those teams, and right now they don't know how their season is going to end.

And it's impossible to not mention how lucky Georgia is to have Smart on their sideline when so many other programs are worrying about losing their head coach or hiring a new one.

So while the rest of the country is in panic mode, Georgia is as calm as they have ever been. And that is a good place to be entering postseason play.
