Heading into this season, it was widely assumed that it would be Carson Beck's final season at Georgia. Beck could have declared for the NFL Draft last summer, but he made the decision to return to UGA for one more season to try and bring another National Championship home to Athens.

And while Georgia football is still in the College Football Playoff, Beck's season is over after suffering an injury to his elbow during the SEC Championship game against Texas.

The only thing on every Georgia fan's mind after Beck was ruled out was if Beck would still declare for the 2025 NFL Draft or decide to use his final season of eligibility and return to Georgia again. There are a lot of pros and cons to both decisions, but Beck announced on Saturday that he will be entering the 2025 NFL Draft.

Carson Beck's future

Beck is going to be one of the most intriguing prospects to follow during the NFL Draft season. Heading into this season Beck was regarded as one of the top QB prospects in college football, but he did not always live up to that hype this year. His recent injury will also create some concerns from NFL organizations as well.

However, Beck is expected to be healthy enough to begin throwing by the spring, meaning he will have plenty of time to show NFL teams how his recovery is going before they have to decide to draft him or not. It's unclear where Beck could be drafted at this time, but ESPN Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has Beck as the No. 4 QB on his mock boards.

That would indicate that Beck will be a first round pick as the first few quarterbacks usually get selected in the top 10 of the draft. However, a lot of this will depend on how Beck looks in the spring when he can throw again, so that will be something to monitor very closely.

Regardless, Beck has now completed what is a very impressive career at Georgia. He led the Bulldogs to a 12-0 regular season last year and helped Georgia win an SEC Championship this season. Beck unfortunately won't get a chance to win a National Championship on the field, but if UGA does go on to win a national title Beck will still deserve as much credit as anyone else.
