Everyone has been eagerly awaiting the final verdict on Carson Beck's status as Georgia football prepares for their College Football Playoff run. Ever since Beck was hurt on the final play in the first half of the SEC Championship game, the debate surrounding his potential availability has been one of the biggest conversations in all of college football.

And late on Monday night, Radi Nabulsi with ugasports.com shared Georgia's statement confirming that Beck has undergone a successful surgery, but will be out for the rest of the season.

"Carson Beck underwent successful surgery Monday on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, Ca. A full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025."

Beck has a big decision heading into the offseason

Beck now has a massive decision in front of him now that he knows his season is over. He does still have one more season of eligibility remaining, so he could return to Georgia again for one final season. Alternatively, Beck could declare for the 2025 NFL Draft and begin his career as a professional. And both decisions make a lot of sense.

This past season is the perfect example for why Beck should go pro. Beck did not have the season he was hoping for, and as a result of that he fell in NFL mock drafts because of it. Beck also suffered this injury, which will seriously hurt his draft stock as well. So if he returns to Georgia for one more season, there is always the chance that he suffers another injury or has an even worse season on the field.

However, this past season is also a great reason as to why he should return. One more really good season at Georgia would see his draft stock increase again and make up for the decline it saw this year.

Regardless of what his decision is, Georgia fans will have his back and will always be his biggest supporters no matter what.
