Carson Beck 'chasing perfection' interview leaves Georgia fans shaking their heads

Couldn't he have done this in Athens?

We are now just a few weeks away from the 2025 season getting here and while Georgia football fans are excited to see what Gunner Stockton does leading the offense, that doesn't mean people have forgotten about Carson Beck. Beck is now with Miami in the ACC, which still feels weird.

Now that he's with the Hurricanes, Beck is fully focused on getting Miami to the College Football Playoff in 2025 and he's hoping to chase a natty title. In a recent interview with the ACC Network, he said that his mindset is solely on him 'chasing perfection' this upcoming season. While that's great for him, why didn't he decide he wanted to do that with Georgia instead of Miami?

Indeed, plenty of people in Athens remain pretty upset that Beck decided to bolt for Coral Gables. When it was revealed that he was entering the transfer portal, people were quite shocked. Kirby Smart and Georgia reportedly worked to get him back on campus, but those efforts were for nothing.

Beck was locked in with leaving, with Mario Cristobal and Miami selling him on the fact that he could come in and take over the Miami offense for Cam Ward, who went No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Ward is now getting ready for his first season with the Tennessee Titans.

What also made the decision easy for Beck to sign with Miami is the fact that he can earn up to around $6 million with his NIL deal - it's an absurd amount of money. Georgia is ready to move forward with (most likely) Stockton as QB1, while Beck wants to make a splash in Florida.

It's safe to assume that plenty of Georgia supporters will be in full 'hate watch mode' when Beck and the Canes take on Notre Dame in Week 1. We're not in that same boat, but it's definitely going to take some getting used to seeing him play for Cristobal and not Smart. Countless Georgia fans remain bummed he decided to trade his Georgia jersey for a Miami one.
