Georgia had a chance to play in the most intriguing game potentially in the history of UGA football. All they had to do was get past Ole Miss, a team they already beat once this season. They had every chance to, but unfortunately they fell short and lost 39-34.

Georgia's season is over, so the last thing anyone wants to do right now is imagine what could have happened had they won. But it's impossible to not think about what could have been because Georgia would have faced Carson Beck and Miami in the semifinals if they beat Ole Miss.

Georgia missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime

Beck and Miami found their way in the CFP semifinals in the most improbable way. They not only went on the road and took down a 1-loss Texas A&M team in the first rounf of the playoff, but they knocked off the defending National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes in the quarterfinals as well. This is what Beck needed to do to have a chance to play his former team, but Georgia unfortuantely did not hold up their end of the bargain.

Facing Beck in general would have been must see TV, but playing him with a trip to the National Championship game on the line would have been the biggest thing imaginable. Georgia however failed to win the one game they had to, so UGA fans will never get to experience a matchup against their former quarterback.

It's hard to say at this point if Georgia or Beck and Miami had the better season. Georgia did win the SEC, but Beck and the Hurricanes made it further in the playoff when it mattered most. If Miami makes it to the championship game it will be hard to deny that Beck and Miami had the better year, but he likely was sitting somewhere watching Georgia lose thinking he got the upper hand on his former team.
