Late on Monday night, Georgia football announced that QB Carson Beck underwent a successful surgery on his elbow which will unfortunately end his season before UGA's College Football Playoff run even began.

This news really wasn't all that surprising as it was hinted at ever since he suffered the injury during Georgia's win over Texas in the SEC Championship game. However, it is still heartbreaking even if it was expected.

But now that this news is officially out there, it is time for Beck to move on to a very important offseason. And this offseason he will have to face one of the biggest decisions of his life.

Should Carson Beck go pro or return for one more season?

At the end of last season, Beck made the somewhat surprising decision to return to Georgia for another season. Beck could have entered the 2024 NFL Draft and would have been selected somewhat high, but he decided to return for this season which was thought to be his last season of college football.

However, Beck does have one more year of eligibility remaining, and based on how this last year went it may not be a bad idea for him to return to Georgia again.

It's no secret that Beck didn't have the season anyone was hoping for this year. Beck did not perform at the level that he did last year, and because of that his NFL Draft stock dropped throughout the season. Fast forward to the end of the season and Beck suffered this injury to his elbow which will drop his draft stock even more. So Beck could make the decision to return for another season to show that this injury isn't an issue and that he is as good of a player as everyone thought heading into this year.

However, there is always a chance that his draft stock doesn't improve next year. What if Beck plays even worse next season? What if he suffers another injury? Both of those things could see him fall even further in the draft, which is the last thing anyone wants to see.

This is an extremely difficult decision for Beck. There are many pros and cons to both decisions, so it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds this offseason. But one thing is certain, and that is that the Georgia football program and fans will have Beck's back no matter what he decides to do.
