Carson Beck’s career at Georgia ended extremely abruptly. He led the Bulldogs back to the SEC Championship game in his second season as a starter, but he suffered a season-ending injury on the final play of the half that ultimately was the final nail in the coffin of his career at Georgia.
Beck hasn’t spoken much about his final moment at Georgia since transferring to Miami, but he recently sat down with John Gruden and relived his final moments in the SEC Championship game against Texas.
Carson Beck was so hurt he couldn’t even get his mouthpiece in… and he still went back into the game

Carson Beck reminisces on his final moments at Georgia
After suffering his injury Beck had zero intention of coming back into the game. But he was called on to take one final snap after Gunner Stockton took a shot in overtime, and that snap ended up being the last play of the game (and his Georgia career).
Kirby Smart called on Beck to take the snap even though he was seriously injured. There was no chance he could throw the ball, but he was confident he could hand it off, and that’s what he did which led to Georgia’s game-winning touchdown.
At the time Beck probably knew this would be the last snap of his Georgia career. After they lost in the playoff to Notre Dame he immediately declared for the NFL Draft signaling the end of his time in Athens. He did ultimately end up coming back to college to play for Miami, but his final snap is one that everyone will remember forever.
Beck and Georgia have had their drama filled moments since he left. Georgia fans have been cheering when things went wrong at Miami, and he even took a shot at UGA when Georgia lost to Ole Miss in the playoff.
But this video makes it clear that Beck enjoyed his time at Georgia and has good memories tied to his final moments as a Bulldog. So while fans may love to hate him, Beck will still go down as a player fans were happy to see play at Georgia.
