As every Georgia football fan knows, former quarterback Carson Beck suffered a heartbreaking injury at the end of the first half of the SEC Championship game this past season. This injury prevented him from playing in the rest of that game while also causing him to miss the Bulldogs' College Football Playoff game against Notre Dame as well.

Fast forward a few weeks and Beck ended up transferring to Miami (FL) for his final season of college football. This news was surprising for a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest reasons is because it is unclear how Beck will be on the field after this injury.

That fact however did not scare Miami head coach Mario Cristobal, who still went all out to land Beck out of the portal. But the bad news for Miami is that this injury is limiting Beck this offseason as he is yet to be a participant during spring ball for the Hurricanes.

But according to Cristobal, Beck's recovery is progressing better than they may have expected.

“Carson is progressing well—probably a little ahead of schedule. We’re excited about where he’s at. He’s got a high football IQ, understands the game, and just has a natural presence about him.”

Georgia fans should still hope Beck gets healthy

It's no secret how Georgia fans feel about Beck heading into this season. They are unhappy with his decision and want nothing more than for Gunner Stockton and Georgia to have a better season than Beck and Miami.

While it is okay to feel that way, no one should want that to happen at the expense of an injury. Wishing for anyone to be injured is lame already, but Stockton outperforming Beck will feel that much better if Beck is healthy all season.

So hopefully Beck is able to continue to progress well in his recovery, that way Stockton can have a chance to try and play better than him while he is at full strength.
