The biggest news of the offseason occurred when former Georgia football quarterback Carson Beck announced his decision to exit the NFL Draft and transfer to Miami (FL) for one final season of college football. Everyone knew this happened because of a massive NIL deal offered by the Hurricanes, but no one knew exactly how much Beck would be paid.

That however changed on Tuesday when On3's Pete Nakos leaked the amount of money Beck will make this season at Miami.

Carson Beck will make way more in NIL then Georgia would ever pay him

According to the above report, Beck will make a $4 million base salary this upcoming season at Miami. This NIL deal could increase up to $6 million based on certain incentives. These incentives likely include specific stat thresholds and team accomplishments such as winning the ACC, making the College Football Playoff and winning a National Championship.

Beck surely would have made a lot of money at Georgia if he chose to return to UGA for the 2025 season. Would he have made over $4 million? No chance.

Georgia has one of the top NIL programs in the country, but one thing Kirby Smart will not do at UGA is overpay for anyone. Smart preaches relationships over transactions, and paying any one player this much will hurt the culture in the locker room more than it will help the team win. This fact alone is reason enough for Georgia fans to not miss having Beck in Athens anymore.

Miami starts off with a banger of a game week one as Notre Dame is heading south to play the Hurricanes on the road. So the college football world will immediately learn how well Beck will do at Miami this season. But in order for this investment to work out for the Hurricanes, Beck is going to have to be perfect and win them a lot of games.
