When Georgia lost starting quarterback Carson Beck to injury towards the end of the season in 2024, there was a wonder if fans would see him in a Bulldog uniform ever again. Many thought he would try and take his talents to the NFL and potentially struggle as he did at times at Georgia, but instead, Beck chose to enter the transfer portal.
Beck chose to enter the portal and found a new home with the Miami Hurricanes. Georgia has completely moved on with no hard feelings, and some fans definitely were okay with the move with Gunner Stockton and potentially Ryan Puglisi coming in to lead the way. However, even though Beck has moved on, it hasn't stopped him from talking about Georgia, and even comparing the two schools.
Trying to compare Georgia and Miami is like trying to compare apples to oranges. However, Beck decided to go even further and compared Miami's level of talent to that of Georgia's, which is almost laughable.
The level of talent that Georgia has compared to Miami is definitely far superior, and for Beck to say it is even remotely similar shows that he is clearly delusional.
"Whenever I was at Georgia, was there a very, very long time, it feels – the coaches, players we had, we always had a lot of talent,” Beck said. “Now, coming to Miami, it’s the same thing; there’s so much talent.
There is a talent at Miami, there is no doubt about that, if there wasn't, then Cam Ward wouldn't have been selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft last season; however, the Hurricanes have not have nearly as much success as of late like the Bulldogs have had, so let's not try and same the talent level is the same.
Carson Beck may find that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, away from Georgia
While at Georgia, Beck has the privilege of being coached by some of the best coaches in the country, and probably one of the best, if not the best, current head coaches in the country, Kirby Smart. To leave that and think he will be even more successful just seems like a silly idea, Beck thought one day.
Beck was consistent at Georgia, but he was never a standout quarterback who made waves throughout the SEC or college football. Going to Miami, he will continue to be consistent, but that will probably be it, nothing special, so he may find that, because he doesn't have the superior talent of Georgia around him, his team may not have the same kind of success.
