Georgia football is one day removed from their epic overtime win over No. 2 Texas in the SEC Championship game. While there is a lot to celebrate, there are some things that didn’t go so well either.
And one of those things is QB Carson Beck, who suffered an injury on the final play of the first half that kept him out for (essentially) the rest of the game.
It’s no secret how bad Georgia needs Beck for the rest of the season. Yes UGA played very well with Gunner Stockton under center in Beck’s place, but Georgia’s best chance at winning a National Championship this season is with Beck in control of the offense. So the hope is that Beck is able to make a speedy recovery and that this injury isn’t too serious.
However, Beck was spotted on the sidelines right before the second half started sharing his opinion on his injury to a teammate.
”It’s bad.”

Carson Beck says his injury is “bad”
Now this is the last thing any Georgia fan wants to see. But to be fair, this clip doesn’t share the entire context of the conversation, but it does look like Beck points at his arm when saying “it’s bad.”
Kirby Smart also shared a similar message without using the word bad in his postgame press conference. Smart mentioned that Beck wasn’t able to grip the ball during halftime, which obviously is an important thing for any QB to be able to do.
Smart later went on to share that Beck will have an MRI done, then at that point we will all know a lot more about the severity of his injury. But one things for certain, Georgia needs Beck healthy by Jan. 1 if they want to make a run at a National Championship this season.
