Carson Beck used in argument in Trinidad Chambliss’ court case

In news that was not shocking whatsoever, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was granted a sixth year of college eligibility. This didn’t come from the NCAA who fought hard to prevent it, but a judge ruled in Chambliss’ favor which means there’s nothing the NCAA can do.

This obviously has an impact on Georgia since the Bulldogs will travel to Ole Miss for a game next season. But this case has another interesting connection to Georgia as former quarterback Carson Beck was used in court in an argument in favor of Chambliss.

Carson Beck somehow helped Trinidad Chambliss win court case

Beck has been in the news for a lot of wrong reasons since leaving Georgia, but this time he had nothing to do with it. A previous rumor emerged toward the end of last season claiming Beck hasn’t been taking classes but is still playing college football. That rumor was proven to not be true, but Chambliss’ lawyer must not have gotten that memo.

Chambliss’ lawyer apparently used this rumor as a reason why he deserves another year of eligibility. That argument would make a little sense if Beck wasn’t taking classes, but Beck in fact was still taking classes. But the judge and lawyer somehow thought this was relevant in Chambliss’ case and this could’ve swung the case in Chambliss’ favor.

While it feels like Chambliss should be out of eligibility, there is nothing that anyone can do at this point. Georgia will unfortunately have to face him again in Oxford later this year, but hopefully they will be able to get some revenge.

As while it isn’t Beck’s fault at all that Chambliss won his case, it is quite ironic that Georgia will have to deal with him again in part because of a rumor involving Beck.
