Cash Jones is making a monumental push to make the Atlanta Falcons' final 53-man roster. He by no means is a lock to make their final roster, but after his performance in the Falcons' latest preseason game it could be difficult for them to keep him off their roster.
Jones was dominant during the Falcons' most recent preseason victory over the Colts as he recorded 41 rushing yards on seven carries to go along with 62 receiving yards on four catches which included one touchdown.

Cash Jones makes his pitch for why the Falcons should keep them on their roster
Jones went undrafted at the 2026 NFL Draft. He was then signed by the Atlanta Falcons soon after, but they almost immediately made life more difficult for him.
Jones was never a traditional running back at Georgia. He did get his fair share of carries throughout his career, but he also was a threat in the passing game as well. This may have been why the Falcons signed him after the draft because throughout training camp they experimented with changing him into a wide receiver.
That clearly hasn't stuck since he ran the ball seven times in their last game, but the Falcons are clearly experimenting with Jones to see where he could potentially fit on their roster. The fact that he doesn't fit in one cookie cutter spot though might just be the reason why the Falcons end up keeping him on their final roster.
Cash Jones' versatility could be used to the Falcons' advantage
Most NFL players just play their one position. It isn't very often that a wide receiver lines up as a running back and running backs don't line up out wide too often either, but that doesn't apply to Jones.
Nearly every play at Georgia he was lined up in the back field, but UGA utilized him as pass catcher quite often. So it isn't the wildest thing to suggest that he could line up at receiver, especially after his big game catching the ball.
The Falcons have until 6:00 pm EST on Sunday, Aug. 30 to name their final 53-man roster. Jones is right on that cut line, so at this point it is impossible to predict if he will make the team or not. The Falcons do have one more preseason game against the Miami Dolphins on Friday Aug. 28. This will be Jones' last chance to show he deserves one of the Falcons' 53 roster spots, and if he has another big game then it could be impossible for the Falcons to keep him off their roster.
