Georgia football owns their rivalry with Florida. Their 24-20 win on Saturday marked their fifth straight victory over the Gators while also giving them an 8-2 record during the Kirby Smart era. It’s hard to do much better than that against a good program like Florida.

Georgia has a long winning streak against all of their rivals right now, so it’s easy to take a five game win streak against Florida for granted because that’s just become the norm in Athens. But this win streak over the Gators is historic because two Bulldogs just accomplished something that hasn’t been done since the 1979 Georgia recruiting class.

Two Bulldogs rewrote the history books against Florida on Saturday

Redshirt seniors Cash Jones and Micah Morris are the only two players that were around for all five wins over Florida. This makes them the first Bulldogs to go 5-0 against Florida in their careers since four players from the 1979 recruiting class pulled off that same feat.

Not only have Jones and Morris accomplished this, but they also have been part of five wins against Auburn and four wins against Georgia Tech. They even have beat Tennessee all five times they’ve played them as well.

On top of this success against individual programs, Jones and Morris have won two SEC Championships and two National Championships as well.

It’s nearly impossible to have better careers than what Jones and Morris have had, but the best part of all is that they aren’t done yet. Georgia still has a chance to win an SEC title this season as well as a National Championship this season. And it’s safe to say that if Georgia pulls that off these two will go down as the two Bulldogs with the most successful careers in the entire history of Georgia football.
