The College Football Playoff is entering its 13th year in control of college football. This fall however will be just the third season since expanding to 12 teams.
Many hoped that expansion would help fix a lot of the problems with the playoff, but it ended up creating even more issues than previously existed. Instead of spending the offseason trying to fix some of these problems, the CFP committee decided to update their logo which absolutely no one asked for.

CFP committee refuses to do anything to help make the playoff better for everyone
There are far too many problems with the playoff to list. A few stand out above the rest though including a disregard for strength of schedule and the National Championship game taking place at the end of January. These would’ve been great issues for the committee to address this offseason, but why would they do something that actually matters?
Instead they chose to update their logo which never even needed updating in the first place. And no one will be shocked when they see that the new logo somehow got worse.
When will the CFP committee listen to college football fans? When will they grasp that there are real issues that need to be solved that even players and coaches complain about? Do they even care about making the product better? Or would they rather do nothing and watch their bank accounts grow?
Unfortunately it seems like all they care about is making more money because the only serious conversation they want to have is expanding the playoff even more. But here’s a thought, maybe fix the format that already exists before going and changing it again.
That probably makes too much sense, so fans instead are left with a new logo that no one asked for and is somehow worse than the original.
