Georgia football is in a position they are far too familiar with during Kirby Smart's tenure. The Bulldogs are one of the highest ranked teams in the country, currently No. 4 according to the College Football Playoff rankings, and are trending in the right direction as the season is coming to an end.
Georgia's 35-10 win over Texas last weekend is the perfect eample of why they are so dangerous right now. Their defense has finally found their footing and Georgia's offense may be the best in the country. Put all of that together and they are a very dangerous team.
ESPN's Chris Fowler agrees with this sentiment as he said the Bulldogs are the last team anyone should want to see in the College Football Playoff this season.
“You don’t want to see Georgia across from you when that CFP bracket comes out because they’re hitting their stride and beginning to play better and better on offense,” Fowler said via x.com. “And Mike Bobo—shout out to the play-caller for Georgia…He’s of the most underrated guys. Nobody ever thinks about Bobo when they talk about the top play-callers, the top offensive minds in the sport. The Dawgs are nasty. Probably won’t even be in the SEC Championship Game as defending conference champs, but they’re gonna be a scary team.”
Chris Fowler is a big believer in Georgia's CFP hopes
Fowler gave a lot of praise to Georgia in the above quote, but he made it very clear that he thinks Georgia is the most dangerous team in the country. He believes Mike Bobo is coaching at an extremely high level and is one of the top offensive minds in all of college football. He also believes that them potentially not having to play in the SEC Championship game could work in their benefit as well.
One thing Fowler failed to mention is that Georgia's defense is really coming on strong. They struggled for most of the season, but the last two weeks they have played lights out and have been just as dangerous as their offense.
Georgia has two more games this season where they will hopefully stay hot and continue trending up as a team, but according to Fowler they are the team in the best position right now to make a run at a National Championship this season, and on that no one else should want to play.
