After a long weekend of college football, the updated national rankings are finally being released on Tuesday. The AP Poll is scheduled to be published later in the day, but the updated coaches poll is officially out.

After the four losses suffered by top 10 teams this weekend, the coaches poll was bound to see a lot of changes. And while that was the case, the panel of coaches contributing to this poll did not fall for ESPN's anti-Georgia bias.

Georgia checks in at No. 3 in updated coaches poll

The coaches poll has decided to move Georgia football up to No. 3 in the country after the Bulldogs 45-7 win over Marshall on Saturday. This is a one spot increase from their preseason ranking thanks to Texas's loss at Ohio State over the weekend.

Speaking of the Buckeyes, Ohio State is the new No. 1 team in the country which they more than deserve after beating previously No. 1 Texas at home. Penn State came in at No. 2 in the coaches poll with LSU and Oregon rounding out the top five behind Georgia.

Coaches aren't falling for ESPN's anti-Georgia bias

ESPN has been making some interesting statements about who the best teams in the country are since this weekend's games. Their computer based metric (FPI) somehow still had Texas as the No. 1 team in the country even after their week one loss. On top of that, their analysts have been pushing for LSU to jump Georgia and many other teams after their week one win at Clemson as well.

Thankfully the coaches made the right decision and slid Georgia up one spot to No. 3 while keeping other teams like LSU, Texas and even Miami (FL) behind them.

Georgia's next test this season is against Austin Peay who they will play this Saturday at 3:30 pm EST.
