Florida made headlines last week when they decided to fire head coach Billy Napier. No matter what other jobs open up this offseason, Florida will be one of the most attractive landing spots in the country for any coach who may be looking for a new job.
Florida won't make their final decision on who their next head coach will be until after their season ends, but that won't stop analysts and fans from making their best guess as to who it could be. CBS Sports analyst Tom Fornelli just released his predictions for who will be the next head coach at eight schools, and Georgia Defensive Coordinator Glenn Schumann was his pick to be the next head coach at Florida.

Glenn Schumann predicted to be Florida's next head coach
Schumann becoming Florida's next head coach would be one of the biggest stories in the SEC this offseason if it were to happen. Not only would Schumann be leaving Georgia for one of their rivals, but Florida would be hiring someone who is struggling in their current role.
Schumman has been coaching at Georgia since 2016. He was first promoted to Co-Defensive Coordinator in 2019 and he held that title until 2024 when he was named the sole Defensive Coordinator for the first time in his career. That however is when Georgia's defense began to struggle a little, and those struggles have continued into the 2025 season.
Schumann's defense has been struggling so much this season that UGA fans have floated the idea around of Kirby Smart firing him this offseason. That is unlikely to actually happen considering Schumann signed a contract extension this offseason, but this shows just how frustrated some have been at the job he has done this season. So why would Florida hire anyone if that is how fans feel about him?
Florida has not come out and announced that Schumann is a candidate for their head coach vacancy, but he is someone who could be in store to become a head coach soon. Will he get his first chance to run a program next year at Florida? Only time will tell, but that would be a crazy turn of events if that's how it plays out.
