Georgia football’s annual Pro Day is underway in Athens on Wednesday, and one Bulldog is off to a very impressive start. And no Georgia fan will be surprised to find out that this player is safety Dan Jackson.

Jackson is one of UGA fan’s favorite players after witnessing him start as a walk-on to becoming a full time starter on one of the best defenses in the country. And while Georgia fans cheer every Bulldog on in the NFL, there’s no denying that there’s a special place in everyone’s heart for Jackson.

Unfortuantely for Jackson, his NFL journey got off to a rocky start as he was not invited to this year’s NFL Combine a few weeks ago. This decision didn’t make sense to anyone at Georgia, but there was nothing anyone could do about it.

Jackson however is participating at Georgia’s Pro Day on Wednesday, and so far he is proving everyone wrong and having one of the best days out of any player so far.

Dan Jackson off to fast start at Pro Day

Jackson began his day with the famous 40-yard dash, which he ran a blistering time of 4.40.

After that impressive run, Jackson showed off his athleticism with a 10’3’’ broad jump and 34-inch vertical.

It’s worth noting that Jackson would have finished in the top 10 at the Combine for his position in all three events had he been invited. Now if that doesn’t tell you that the NFL made a mistake not inviting him, then nothing will.

It will be interesting to see if Jackson shoots up NFL mock drafts or not after Wednesday’s performance, but it’s hard to see why he wouldn’t. And with all 32 NFL teams represented at Georgia’s Pro Day, it seems like a guarantee that at least one team will use a draft pick on Jackson at the NFL Draft in April.
